Dynamism partners with founders of high-potential startups backed by select investors, including Y Combinator, Sequoia, and a16z. We fuel their growth by identifying and connecting them with engineers who bring "founder energy"—the drive, adaptability, and ambition needed to thrive in fast-paced environments.
About the company
This startup boosts online sales for companies by using data and AI to make customer acquisition smoother—especially for Shopify-based eCommerce brands. They focus on the top 10% of Shopify’s 3 million+ brands, helping them get more out of their ad budgets by letting marketing teams create high-converting, personalized landing pages, all without needing a developer.
With this platform, marketers can quickly design and launch landing pages, avoiding the usual technical hurdles that come with custom web development. It’s designed for high-spending eCommerce brands and syncs up with social media ads, making sure landing pages stay true to the brand and product. Looking ahead, they plan to leverage AI even more to automate digital marketing, offering proactive suggestions and tailored customer experiences.
Why we’re excited
We’re excited about this company's rapid growth, reaching $1 million ARR by mid-2023 and securing multiple funding rounds. Their focus on scaling, a scrappy and motivated team culture, and strong product-market fit position them well for sustainable growth, potentially bypassing future funding needs and delivering data-driven innovations.
Team and Culture
They operate with a small, agile team of nine engineers across the US and Argentina. The co-founders foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes results over corporate politics, emphasizing transparency, resourcefulness, and intellectual curiosity. The company aims to become a key player in the Shopify ecosystem, providing a no-code solution for marketers and ambitious plans to scale beyond Shopify, automating much of digital marketing.
About the role
As a senior backend engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the system architecture behind some of the startup’s most important products. You'll lead the design and implementation of complex backend systems using TypeScript/Node, like high-availability ingestion pipelines and A/B testing platforms, directly influencing the stability and scalability of their core infrastructure. Beyond coding, you’ll mentor junior engineers, set best practices, and solve challenging technical problems. This high-impact role means your work will be central to the startup’s product success and technical growth.
Things you'll be working on
- Designing and building an analytics ingestion pipeline: Develop a reliable pipeline using Kafka, ClickHouse, and Redis, ensuring >99.99% uptime for real-time data processing.
- Building an A/B testing platform: Create an A/B testing framework with Cloudflare Workers, enabling data-driven user experience optimization.
- Enhancing the CI/CD platform: Improve build stability and automate deployment pipelines for seamless feature integration.
- Deploying a multi-tenant Next.js app: Manage deployment on Cloudflare with automatic revalidation for fresh, up-to-date content delivery.
- Mentoring junior engineers: Guide junior team members, promoting best practices in development and architecture.
- Collaborating with founders: Align technical initiatives with company vision and product roadmap, supporting strategic growth.
- Managing infrastructure: Ensure scalability and security in technical architecture, supporting a growing user base.
- Leading the engineering team: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation.
Core requirements
- Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco.
- Experience: 5+ years working with production distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of load balancers, databases, queuing, caching, HTTP, APIs, high availability, fault tolerance, and redundancy.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in TypeScript, with experience in Python, Go, or Java, and a readiness to work with TypeScript/Node.
- Full-Stack Capability: Familiar with React and comfortable handling frontend tasks as needed.
About you
- You have an "Always Shipping" mentality, preferring to iterate quickly rather than get bogged down in prolonged planning cycles.
- You’re product-focused, always considering how features impact customer experience and satisfaction.

- You have faced deployment and maintenance crises in the past, giving you strong, well-formed opinions on building products that are reliable and scalable.
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity, preferring to define software architecture patterns that directly address customer pain points rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.
- You enjoy mentoring junior engineers, believing in guiding them through best practices rather than micromanaging.
- You collaborate closely with founders, preferring to align on vision, strategy, and product roadmap to ensure the team is always moving in the right direction.
